Designing Black and Brown liberation through inclusion and representation.
Woke Us Designs is a venture by myself, Chris Fornesa. My design qualifications include a certificate in Digital Communications from Houston Community College, a minor in Studio Art from the University of Houston, and over five years of production-level digital art and graphic design experience (since 2013). In addition to that, I also have a few years of website design and development experience (since 2016). I had also been pursuing an MS in Information Technology with a Software Design and Management concentration from Liberty University between July 2018 to May 2019, during which I completed three courses in Java that consisted of two object-oriented programming courses and one software development course. I often use a painterly style with Photoshop, an abstracted realism style with Illustrator and I am experimental with my website designs.

Black and Brown faces are, all too often, excluded from the Eurocentric, classist, and generally privileged, tendencies commonly found in the art world, the field of graphic design, and the programming community. Meanwhile, the general creative discourse loves Black and Brown cultural capital and often incorporates (often through appropriation or tokenism) our respective ideas, designs and patterns, styles, and art forms. So, with this venture, I intend to create meaningful, impactful designs that center the experiences of Black and Brown people of this world.

As a proud Pilipino man who was also blessed with queerness and a unique autistic mind, I incorporate a variety of influences and utilize an array of approaches to create a solution tailored to your specific design needs. So, if you have a graphic design, website design, digital art, or other such creative endeavor that you need taken care of, let me know.
I am also open to creative collaborations!
